Tank is currently a non-runner and definitely needs a fair amount of attention.

  • Engine is not able to turn, could be related to clutch / engine.
  • Has a dummy gun
  • Drivers visor is removed but stored inside hull
  • Dummy Besa hul gun.

The Churchill Tank, named after British Prime Minister Winston Churchill, was a heavy infantry tank deployed by the Allies during World War II, primarily by the United Kingdom. The Mk VII was a later version introduced in 1944.
The particular shape of the Mark IV chariot (initially A22 and known as “Churchill”), was designed by the engineers of Vauxhall Motors. This tank has the same structure as the initial model, Mark I, studied for the First World War.

Many improvements have been made since the creation of the Mark I, including the replacement of the obsolete 40 mm barrel by 57 mm and 75 mm barrels and improved shielding. . The tank featured a robust design with thick armor and therefore well-protected against enemy fire. While not known for speed, the Churchill was reliable and capable of overcoming challenging terrain.
This chassis is used, like that of the American Sherman tanks, as the basic structure for many other versions, including infantry support, bridge layers, anti-mines and flamethrowers. It was used by the British forces during the Normandy landing and known as Hobart’s Funnies.
The Churchill was used by British and other Commonwealth forces during the North African, Italian and North-West Europe campaigns. In addition, 344 Churchills were sent as military aid to the Soviet Union during the Second World War and more than 250 saw active service on the Eastern Front. About 80 Churchills, in different conditions, have survived today.
